Grant from City of Gatineau for Air Show

GATINEAU, QC. – Vintage Wing of Canada will receive a grant from the City of Gatineau for their 2011 air show, Wings Over Gatineau / Gatineau en vol.

The ‘Comité des fetes et festivals’ announced the grant for Wings Over Gatineau in a recent communiqué released by the city. Vintage Wings will receive $10,000 in financial support and $10,000 in services dedicated specifically to operating the air show.

Wings Over Gatineau will take place Saturday, 17 September and will feature the highly acclaimed Canadian Forces Snowbirds. In conjunction with the air show, the Experimental Aircraft Association will hold their second annual fly-in and convention at the Executive Gatineau-Ottawa Airport (EGO).

“We are pleased to be considered a major event worth investing in by the City of Gatineau. This grant demonstrates that the city recognizes Wings Over Gatineau is a great event to offer to the residents of Gatineau,” said Rob Fleck, Vintage Wings President. “The City of Gatineau recognizes our potential and we are tremendously honoured to be accepted into the “family” of festivals.”

This grant will help pay for necessary costs including traffic policing and park ‘n’ ride services. It will also offset costs associated in running an event of this caliber in a professional and efficient manner.

Further details pertaining to the air show and the performers will be announced at a joint press conference with EGO and the City of Gatineau in April.
