Vintage Wings Of Canada Announces 2011 Air Show

GATINEAU, QC. – Today, Vintage Wings of Canada announced their 2011 air show “Wings over Gatineau” and the return of the Canadian Forces Snowbirds as the feature act for the 17 September event.

Chris Hadfield, Canadian Space Agency Astronaut and member of the Vintage Wings board of directors, made the official announcement during a joint press conference with the City of Gatineau and the Gatineau-Ottawa Executive Airport.

“Warbirds and Wingmen is our theme as we salute the skills and airmanship of this nations’ great aviators– past and present,” explained Chris Hadfield.  “Saluting wingmen is not just about aviation but one of looking out for each other, and of mutual protection, a characteristic of all our services whether it is our ground troops fighting in Afghanistan, our navy patrolling the Arabian gulf, or our airmen maintaining the no-fly zone over Libya.”

“Wings over Gatineau” is proudly supported by the City of Gatineau and the Gatineau-Ottawa Executive Airport, both who continue to provide tremendous support so that Vintage Wings can offer a well-run, professional event for the public.

Vintage Wing’s is committed to offering an entertaining family event to the local community and one that is affordable.  Admission is $10 for each adult, free for youth 12 and younger.
